Dolly Parton has lived a long and mega-successful life in the spotlight. The iconic singer’s talents have transcended decades and styles; she’s been a fixture at the top of the entertainment industry since almost any of us can remember.

Despite her legendary status, Dolly has faced criticism about her looks, even as she approaches her eighties. Critics have told her to change her signature look, saying, “Not to look so cheap, nobody was ever going to take me seriously.” However, Dolly remains confident, famously stating, “It costs a lot of money to look this cheap.”

At 77, Dolly Parton is a household name in both country music and the celebrity sphere. Recently, she announced she would no longer be touring extensively. “I’ll do special shows here and there… But I have no intention of going on a full-blown tour anymore,” she told Pollystar.

Despite growing up in poverty in the Appalachian Mountains, Dolly reached the pinnacle of world entertainment. Her husband has always supported her, with Dolly revealing, “He doesn’t care if I’m fat… He’s fool enough to think I’m the sexiest, prettiest woman in the world.”

Dolly continues to seek new challenges. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2022, she plans to honor this by delivering an album outside her usual genre. Though initially reluctant, voters and fans ensured her rightful place in the Hall of Fame, where she aims to prove her worth.
